September is a time of fresh starts and renewal for many pople. We look forward to the changing foliage but do hope for an \u201cIndian Summer\u201d regarding the weather. The Social Circle is excited about the 60th<\/sup> Anniversary magazine they are preparing, and it will be ready in time for the celebration on Sunday, September 21st<\/sup>. Also, it is time to renew your Social Circle Membership of $60. WRITING CLUB<\/strong> \u2013 Monday, September 8th<\/sup> at 7 p.m. in the Community Room.
\nParticipants are encouraged to write a short piece emphasizing the character traits of a particular person, pet, or object. Think of a character description in literature and \u201cmake\u201d your character come to \u201clife\u201d for the reader or\u00a0 listener. Sandy Gambal will lead this activity.<\/p>\n

BOOK CLUB<\/strong> \u2013 There will be no scheduled meeting this month due to the Jewish Holiday starting the evening of September 22nd<\/sup>. The selection is \u201cDisobedient\u201d by Elizabeth Fremantle.\u00a0\u00a0It is a riveting novel based on the life of Artemisia Gentileschi, the greatest woman painter of the Renaissance. The book will be reviewed and discussed at the October meeting.<\/p>\n
